Biography

Irene Christensen, an accomplished artist, gracefully balances her creative endeavors across studios in New York City, Oslo, Norway, Costa Rica, and the Florida Everglades. Her artwork has found homes in galleries and collections across Europe, Asia, and the United States.

Her artworks were featured at the Personal Structures exhibition, a prestigious event by the Global Art Affairs Foundation, showcased by the European Cultural Center during the 2017 Venice Art Biennale. Museums that have featured her art include Galeria Nacional in Costa Rica, Norsk Skog Museum in Norway, and a series of renowned museums in New Jersey, USA, such as the Bergen, Paterson, Noyes, and Newark Museums. Beyond these, her creations have adorned art centers and galleries from Brazil and Israel to Argentina.

Christensen’s educational journey includes studying under esteemed artists Richard Pousette-Dart and Joseph Hirsch at the Art Student League in New York City. Further refining her skills, she pursued art education at the Voss School of Fine Arts and the Institute for Rom Kunst in Oslo.

A fervent supporter of the arts, Irene is affiliated with several professional groups. She’s a member of the Norwegian Association of Professional Visual Artists, Newark Art Council, and the National Arts Club. Additionally, she contributes as a board member to Everglades Artists in Residence (AIRIE) in Florida.

With her work celebrated in numerous museums and private collections around the world, Irene Christensen remains a monumental figure in the global art scene.
